Guest Designer | August 22

We are so excited to announce Maurilia as our Guest Designer today!

Hello my crafty friends! My name is Maurilia and you can find me on Instagram at Bellaflora77. I am so excited to be a guest designer on the Coffee Loving Papercrafters blog. Here is a little about me, I’m a stay-at-home wife to a loving husband and a mom to two beautiful girls with my oldest going into her third year in high school and my youngest in her final year of middle school. I have been crafting for as long as I can remember but really began making cards about 5 years ago. I find this creative outlet so fulfilling and I love the smile it brings to the recipients’ faces.

Truth be told, I truly love coffee! In fact, I can be found having 3 cups per day in 3 different forms: black coffee to start my day and also to continue my fast, my sweetened “dessert” coffee after lunch, and my afternoon pick me up iced coffee.  So needless to say, I often have a coffee in hand especially while cardmaking.

Today I’m sharing a cozy Christmas scene featuring coffee or cocoa cups on wooden slices. The cups are from Spellbinders large die of the month mugs & mittens. I die cut them out of cream and ink blended the inside with brown distress oxide inks. To give the illusion of actual coffee I heat embossed them using clear embossing powder. For added dimension I cut the cups out of fun foam and adhered them to the back of the cup. Next up I die cut and embossed the Sizzix wood slices and ink blended them with brown distress oxides. All the greenery and berries are from Spellbinders Christmas Cocktails die set which were all cut in various solid card stock. For a little sparkle I applied glossy accents on these and sprinkled Distress glitter clear rock candy. I chose desert storm cardstock as my card base and added the pretty red and pink plaid from Honey Bee Stamps Holiday Wishes paper pad.  For the sentiment, I used Spellbinders Stay Snuggly stamps with coordinating dies. And finally, I put it all together with the Spellbinders scalloped frame in white card stock. For a little glam, I added red gems in different sizes to finish off the look.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope this card provided a little inspiration. I would like to personally thank Amy for having me on Coffee Loving Papercrafters. Happy Crafting!
