Coffee Loving Papercrafters

Hello and welcome!  This is Shanna today with another MugShot Monday!  Today I have a fun mixed media card featuring stamps and stencils from super sponsor Ink Blot Shop!  They recently released a new caffeinated set and I am in LOVE!

Today’s card all began with me reallllly wanting to use the cute Boba tea stamp from Ink Blot Shop’s Hot & Cold Drinks stamp set—so I colored it and fussy cut it out.  My Copic colors decided my color palette moving forward.  Purple and black were my two colors I stuck to.  I decided to sift through my stash of gel press backgrounds and discovered a gem of one that I made with purple acrylic paints and bubble wrap!  It worked perfect and ties in with the boba too!  I trimmed the background down to 4″x5.25″ and then I grabbed Ink Blot Shop’s new Pattern Play stencil  and grabbed some TCW Stencil Butter in black and added some scattered dots.  I used the same palette knife I was spreading the stencil butter with to smudge some more black onto the edges for a more distressed/messy look.  That finished up my background!

To help frame out my image I cut a piece of black cardstock and a smaller piece of white cardstock.  I decided to stencil on some more dots on to the white cardstock–but after it was dry I opted to ink blend over it with a purple ink to keep with the colors.  I adhered the two rectangles angled on the background and then popped my image on to them using foam tape.

My sentiment came from Ink Blot Shop’s Sweet Times Sentiments stamp set.  I stamped “Life is Sweet” onto white cardstock and then used the same ink to blend over it to make it purple.  I matted it with black cardstock and then adhered it to the card panel with foam tape.  That finished up my card!
