Hello there Christine here with a fall inspired card using products from Super Sponsor The Greetery. It’s absolutely shocking how fast autumn has been flying by- it’s my favorite season- the weather is mostly beautiful- apples, pumpkins, colorful leaves and adorable little trick-or-treaters. Which is why my card today is about gratitude…. and of course coffee! (Always grateful for coffee!
Last year The Greetery came out with an Hourglass Frame die and Hourglass Insert die that worked various additional stamp set and die sets that fit into the hourglass- I’m finally using it with a new stamp & stencil set Time for Gratitude Stamp + Stencil.
I wanted the card to have a fall vibe and so used soft yellows, bronze and poppy with a little green. First I wanted to create a light variated yellow background with metallic spackles- so I used a cream cardstock and ink blended some distress oxide scattered straw ink. I then dipped a paintbrush into the Distress Mica Stain in Harvest Moon and splattered that all over the panel- the harvest moon color is a very light gold like finish- thanks to the mica bits.
I die cut the insert for the hourglass out of Neenah solar white cardstock with the Hourglass Insert die, I also die cut the piece that specifically worked with the Time for Gratitude die, but if I had to do things over, I would have just stamped directly onto the hourglass insert itself. The Greetery is wonderful with providing instructions on how to use the Time for Gratitude Stamp + Stencil set together- so I won’t write anything really specific about that here other than to say that I stenciled first and then stamped.
To stamp I used inks form various companies (Stampin Up, Concord & 9th- please use whatever is in your stash) that stamps in the colors you envision for your card. Sometimes you have to play around with the colors- if you stick to colors from one company, they are likely to work well together, however, I find that sometimes the color I’d like just isn’t produced in the line of inks from a certain company- so I often end up stamping on a piece of scrap paper to see if the colors work together.
I die cut the hourglass with the Hourglass Frame die our of bronze cardstock that I had in my stash and then adhered everything together.
Thank you so much for stopping by! Wishing you a wonderful day 🙂
