Coffee Loving Papercrafters

Happy Monday! I feel like I say this so often, but I had so much fun creating this card! It’s October, and I wanted to use the Boo Brew dies from Trinity Stamps.

My card today is a simple design. The challenge was finding the perfect sentiment and I love fun sentiments. I knew I wanted it to say “you are the scream in my coffee”. I thought I HAD to have this sentiment in my large collection of coffee sentiments…but I did not. I did find in one of my Unity Stamp sets, “you are the cream in my coffee,” which would work with some modification. I needed to add an “s” to the front of “cream.” My first idea was to draw in the “s.” I tried drawing it several times, but I really wasn’t happy with the final look. I tried multiple markers, but none of them were matching my stamped words…they were either too thick or not the right shade of black (who knew ther were so many shades of black!)

I then considered creating the word “scream” from some die cut letters. However, all of my alphabets were way too big for my layout. I knew this wasn’t going to work.

I almost gave up and then I had another idea.

I started looking through my stamp alphabets, and I landed on Lawn Fawn’s Violet’s ABCs. The “s” was a little bigger, but I felt like the font was compatible with the font of the original sentiment. This solution made me so happy! I LOVE how it turned out.
