Erika is back with us with a super fun project!
What’s better than sipping your favorite brew and perusing a peaceful art gallery? How about stamping your own coffee powered work of art!! It’s Erika from Catherine Pooler Designs guesting today and for this one, I got a little artsy!
For today’s card, I channeled my inner Warhol and was inspired by Pop Art. I love the vibrance of bright colors and movement of pop art. Busy, patterned backgrounds and bright, graphic imagery combine to make this style POP!

I started by doing a Double Background Stamping Technique. I grabbed two of my favorites, Spotted and Wild Thing from Catherine Pooler. These two wonky dot stamps worked together so perfectly layered. I stamped them with my Misti Stamping tool- Spotted in Cummerbund and Wild Thing in Juniper Mist. I purposefully didn’t stamp this up several times because I was going for a textured look versus a solid look.
Next, I stamped and die cut a bunch of coffee cups and whipped cream (don’t forget the sprinkles) from the Fall Calls for Lattes Stamp Set. I colored the sleeves with Apricot, Clay Mask, Do-Si-Do, and Samba.

For the sentiment, I created a banner to stamp “great news” and then grabbed the Oh So Good Word Dies. I did a light ink blend of Apricot and Do-Si-Do on my paper before cutting out the “oh yeah”. I did this with a second layer inked in Juniper Mist.
Once my sentiment was in place, I glued all my other die cut pieces around in a fun and whimsical design.
A quick swipe of Juniper Mist direct to paper along the edges of my card base created a perfect frame for my work of Pop Art! I imagine this is what Warhol would have created, if he was hopped up on espresso instead of Campbell’s soup!
