Coffee Loving Papercrafters

Hello!  I’ve got a special card for today.  I’ve heard it expressed in different ways among my crafty friends and fellow cardmakers and I think my friend Debra said it best… when I don’t know what else to do, I create.

I decided to join in on #cardsforUkraine and created this one for today using the colors of the Ukrainian flag and a sunflower which has become a symbol of support.  My card is a combination of Hope along with a symbol of resistance and resilience….

… a tribute to a brave Ukrainian woman who approached a Russian soldier and asked him what he was doing in her country and told him to put sunflower seeds in his pockets so that flowers would grow when he dies on Ukrainian land.  It’s just another example of what seems like the limitless bravery of  the people of Ukraine.  It is meant as a curse, but also I think it’s beautiful.

So, I’ll leave you with that for today… a cup of hope and a show of courage.  Sending love and strength to all in the world who are struggling near and far and prayers for peace in Ukraine and around the world.
