Coffee Break Monday With Mary Debut

Hello! Welcome to Coffee Break Monday’s with Mary

I’m so thrilled to be sharing my first post here on the Coffee Loving Cardmaker’s blog as a guest designer!

I am dedicating this card to my mom. She was an editor of a newspaper and wrote a weekly column titled “Coffee Break”. I’m not a writer like her, but I think she would get a kick out of me getting creative through card making.

The card I’m sharing today combines several of my favorites: coffee, gnomes, and wreaths. Who doesn’t love a gnome peeking out of a coffee cup?

The gnome image is from Coffee, Gnomes and You by Unity Stamp Company and the wreath is from Waffle Flower’s Mistletoe Wreath die set.

To begin, I stamped the gnome in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored him with Copic markers.

Mug: BG15, BG32 and BG10

Hat: Y38, Y35 and Y08

Skin: E13, E11 and E00

Beard: W3, W1 and W00

Then I chose the sentiment from the same stamp set. I loved “Hello Friend”! This font is so dang cute. Next I went through my paper stash and found the perfect papers to layer up on my card. I die cut the largest rectangle with a stitched die from Pink Fresh Studios. I wanted to add some more interest, so I added the wreath die cut. Lastly, I cut my gnome on my scan ‘n cut and added some craft foam to the back to pop him up.

I hope you like my gnome card and thanks for taking a break with me! Now go grab another cup and have a great week.

Lariat is the new moniker – and marketing theme – for Backcountry Coffee Roasters, which was founded in 2006 by Lori Loomis and Bob Gamblin. With the rebranding, Backcountry is out, Lariat is in. The glossy revamped packages (still 16 ounces) had already started showing up in local stores within hours after the new name was revealed Saturday during an open house at the company’s roasting facility and store on Horizon Flats Road.
