Hello and welcome! I am so glad you dropped by today! My name is Shanna from Caffeinated Craftiness, and today is my FIRST blog post here on the Coffee Loving Cardmaker’s blog as a guest designer! Words cannot express how excited I am to be a part of this wonderful team!
I am a huge collector of caffeinated things—crafty stuff is NO exception! I have been in a madd producing mood lately too so I opted to do a “one sheet wonder” set of cards for my post today! Never heard of a “one sheet wonder”??? Let me explain! A one sheet wonder is a term used when a single piece of cardstock, usually a double sided 12×12 piece, is cut following a recipe or diagram to specific pieces and then put together to create a set of cards. My Pinteresting led me to this example where 1 sheet of paper yields 7 total cards! Fun right!?! I won’t repost the diagram I used here, but definitely check out the original blogger for more info if you choose to make your own!
The paper I selected is a sheet of double sided cardstock that I have hoarded for some time now….I struggle with “ruining” my pretty paper!! LOL. I can’t be the only one though right? I grabbed a few pieces of coordinating cardstock for my bases and then needed to pick out a stamp set.. The struggle was REAL on this one…Sooooo many good ones to pic from that would have worked! I ended up going with my tried and true coffee set from super sponsor Hero Arts. This was a My Monthly Hero kit a few years ago, and is still one I love to reach for. The sentiments fit the circles perfectly, and I was able to use a variety of them for my card set! The card is a type of “latch fold” fun fold card, but there are ZERO scraps left!! YAY!
This particular one sheet wonder created 6 cards using the same layout, with a *bonus* 7th card from scraps. Here is how that one turned out!
Does anyone else enjoy making sets of cards?? I would love to hear about any resources you enjoy using for inspiration…let me know in the comments below 🙂
That wraps up my first official Mug shot [of espresso] Monday post! I will be back in a couple weeks with another crafty shot! Until then you can always find me and follow along with my caffeinated adventures over on instagram @caffeinated.craftiness.
