Coffee Loving Papercrafters

Amy is back with us again, please stay to the end of the post where we’ll do a look back at all her projects.

Hello everyone!  Happy Friday to you!  It’s Amy @card.chick on Instagram with my last guestie post for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog.

So this card is my absolute favorite from the four I have created thus far.  It was a messy process, but totally worth it at the end. 

I used two My Favorite Things circle dies to cut out a large circle from textured cardstock and a smaller circle from a double-sided adhesive sheet. The smaller circle created a sticky surface which I then covered with Nuvo gilding flakes in Radiant Gold and Sunkissed Copper (so shiny and gorgeous).  Gilding flakes is rather tricky to work with…half stays on your project while the other half goes airborne!  After I pressed the gilding flakes onto the cardstock with my fingers, I used a brush to swipe off the excess flakes.

I used the My Favorite things “Hot Cocoa Cups” die-namics to cut out two white mugs filled with coffee.  One mug was stamped with a scripty “hi” while the other mug had a fern like design made shiny with gilding flakes.  I used Copic Markers in C1 and 0 to give the mugs some shading.
