Guest Designer – April 9

Our April Guest Designer Amy @card.chick is back with us!

Hi everybody, it’s Amy @card.chick from Instagram with another caffeinated card project as your April Guest Designer!  Woot!

If you like mass producing cards, this post is dedicated to you. My favorite method by far when it comes to making a gazillion cards at once is to create die cut cards, mainly because it takes less time than coloring images.  I typically prep my pieces in groups of five so I don’t get too bored from doing the same thing over and over again.  If you have a good podcast or some music playing in the background, you can probably create a set of 5, 10 or 20 cards in no time.  That is definitely the beauty of mass producing cards…when you reach that zone of automaticity.

I made a latte thank you cards this time with the Honey Bee Stamps honey cuts set, “Coffee Cup Gift Card Holder.”  This die set makes perfect gift card holders or can be used to create coffee cup shaped cards if you want to write small messages of thanks.  I was having trouble finding the perfect sentiment in my stamp stash so I printed them out instead from a word doc that I created.  I typed out “Thanks A Latte” in the Desdemona text font sized at 20.  If you do not have the perfect sentiment, don’t forget you can always create your own and print them out!

A regular 8.5” x 11” cardstock yielded two cards and one belly band.  I find making die cut cards is the best opportunity to use all the busy looking pattern paper and paper scraps that I have unapologetically hoarded over time.  I used the honey cuts circle die to die cut the sentiment and a My Favorite Things circle die to cut a larger circle to frame the sentiment.  The sentiment was then popped up on the belly band with foam squares to give it dimension.

I made a total of 10 cards and they turned out so cute! I hope you enjoyed this post and perhaps will mass produce some die cut cards in your near future.

Thank you for joining me and happy crafting to you!

XOXO,
Amy @card.chick
