Brew & Craft Your Stash – Use the Splatter Technique

Hello Coffee Lovers!!

It’s time for Brew & Craft Your Stash!! Challenge #71 in the 75 Creative Card Challenges Magazine by Paper Crafts 2013!! Grab your drink of choice and get ready for some great crafty ideas!!!

Challenge #71 – Use the Spatter Technique. I had to skip #70, its make a comic-inspired card. Two of the cards used comic pattern paper, which I don’t have. One used an actual comic, which I also don’t have, LOL, do you see a pattern here??? So I moved on to challenge #71.  All four cards used spatter with stamps, buttons, pattern papers, and die cuts!

So spatters go great with coffee, especially coffee stain stamps!! I pulled out Fun Stampers Journey Coffee Helps stamp set. It looks like this set is retired, only the die set is available! 😦

I cut some watercolor paper with a stitched die. Then I pulled out my three brown ink shades from Catherine Pooler and with an ink blender I inked around the edges into the center of the panel. I kept the center of the panel light and gradually darker to the edge.

Next I stamped coffee stain and coffee beans in the three colors. Then I splattered water over the background and set it aside to dry. When it was dry I used some dark distress ink and water to add darker splatters to the panel.

Meanwhile I stamped three of coffee cups with three different colors and then fussy cut them out.  I added the three cups to the panel with foam tape. Then I stamped one of the sentiments below the cups. Last I added the panel to a metallic brown card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope this inspires you do pull out your distress inks, paint, dye inks and do a little spattering!!
