Hello there inky friends! It’s Kerry here and I’m back with another fun Sunday Sip. Yesterday, I braved the stores and headed over to Marshalls to scope out their holiday goods. I always love spending the day over there checking out all the glassware and ceramics, the festive pillows and couch blankets. This year, I noticed quite a ton of the trendy red plaid. I went down the coffee cup/dishware aisle and it was choc full of Rae Dunn cups, platters, canisters and just a TON of DUNN! That’s what inspired this card!
I only have one Dunn cup- an XOXO cup I got several years ago when Dunn wasn’t so popular. I am kind-of proud of my restraint as I could get very deep into a Dunn collection hoard if I wanted to. I’d rather be deep into a handmade pottery mug collection (not mass produced). HA HA…
Anyway, when I got home from my no-spend look/see adventure, I decided to pull out the brand new SKINNY Alphabet stencil set from The Cat’s Pajamas. When I first got it, it immediately reminded me of the farmhouse-Dunn lettering. SOOO…It’s perfect for a big old mug card. BUT…I didn’t have a mug stamp big enough so I decided to doodle one up that fit the whole card size!
So after doodling the card shape (with it’s wonky irregular sides and base), I added the stenciling with a Staedtler .07 ink pen. I then traced it a bit more to make it thick and Dunn-like. Since I didn’t have enough room for my entire sentiment, I opted to write the last “la” in cursive. I finished it off by adding a little festive holly using my Copic markers and some of that black pen again.
I cut the whole card out making sure to keep the top alone so that it could open perfectly. And that’s that. A handmade Dunn-inspired card I can send to a fellow Dunn lover. HA HA!
Thanks for hopping over to check out this week’s creation! Hope to see you again next week!
Hey, it’s Amy here popping in real quick to announce the winner of our recent Not 2 Shabby Collaboration Hop. By the way, I love Kerry’s project, I’m a huge Rae Dunn fan and just recently bought my first mug that says, wait for it, Amy.

The winners of the Collaboration hop are posted on the Not 2 Shabby blog!
