Hi Friends! Katie here. Did you miss me? Honestly, you probably didn’t even notice I was gone, and I don’t mean that in a self-pity kinda way, just that this team is so awesome, you probably didn’t skip a beat. 🙂 Well I am back after the team graciously gave me the summer off (sooo busy). Back with a bang too because today I have a friend with me for my Coffee Date!
Please welcome my coffee date today Shanna Slater! Shanna is a sweet yet sassy friend that I connected with through a few other DTs and I know she likes coffee too (…ahem… her blog title… Caffeinated Craftiness) AND she makes some fab projects, so she makes the perfect date.

Here is a little about Shanna in her own words:
Hello! My name is Shanna and I am excited to be Katie’s coffee date today! I met Katie through crafting online, both in the CLC Facebook group and a few design teams we both play on. She is too sweet for words! I am an avid papercrafter, and love anything caffeinated! I am also a wife of almost 18 years, mother of 3 wonderful (most of the time) kiddos, and a registered nurse who works full time at a local hospital. I have called Northern California home for most of my life, and love almost everything about it! I admit, triple digit heat is not my favorite. My “down-time” is spent mostly with my family, and crafting. You can find me and my caffeinated adventures both on my blog and IG.
So without further ado, let’s get too it. First, I’d like to share the inspiration Shanna and I used for our creations (Source- Pinterest):
OK, let me share Shanna’s amazing project using our inspiration. She used one of our Coffee Hop Super Sponsors, Waffle Flower, with Versaclair inks for her main images. She also had a fun Tim Holtz stencil and and MFT sentiment. You can find more details on the how on her blog here.
I’ll be honest, the use of the colors in the pallete make me swoon a little bit, just so yummy! I also love the use of the stencil in the background and the way she did the sentiment! Here is a close up of those cups!
I think I might need to steal this card from her. Is that in the official coffee date rule book? Please tell me it is! WINK! Meanwhile, I highly recommend you head to her blog today for all the amazing details about her project. 🙂
And here is what I have for you today:
For my creation today, I really wanted to pull from the feel of the inspiration image, the golds and texture, it all feels so amazingly exotic. So I decided to use two set from super sponsor Altenew. I am embarrassed to say that this is the first time I have used the coffee set… cough…don’t hate me! I coupled the elements with two different embossing powders from Super Sponsor Wow Embossing Powder. I stamped the images on Watercolor paper and used my zigs to create the color, then I cut them out and mounted them on this one layer card (not my typical). The embellishments are from Super Sponsor Trinity Stamps. Here is a close up of the blooms:
If you would like to see a full list of supplies I used, you are welcome to visit my blog here.
Big thank you to my amazing, funny friend for being here today. Please be sure to leave her a comment and thank her as well!
Until next time, caffeinated hugs and inky dreams!
