Guest Designer – June 14

We’re so excited to have Beatrix (Lily) Révhely as our June Guest Designer!  In case you missed it, read more about here HERE.  Take it away Lily!

Take a brrrreak!

Hi fellow crafters!

Today is a great day, I’m so happy that as a guestie on the Coffee Lovers blog  I now get to show You how I’ve created this funny card using Super Sponsor Create a Smile stamp sets.

I was sure that I would like to create something with a frog because so many of them are croaking around me nowadays and they are so funny – I just love them and their voice. Also we had rainy days here, so I wanted to work with that mood. So here is my card with brrrreak-taking frog, let me tell you how this was created.

First of all I’ve chosen 3 stamp sets for my card: Just like coffee (essentials), Unforgettable (critters) and Easy-breezy (for the sentence). I’ve stamped the coffee and critter images with jet black ink pad on paper suitable for alcohol markers and let them dry naturally while I turned to the backgrounds.

As I wanted to create a smooth pastel watercolor background, I heat embossed some puddles with white powder on my aquarelle paper and then I started to paint so the watercolors would reveal the heat embossed stamping. I’ve used nylon gloves to spread the paint on the wet paper.

While it was drying I went ahead to fussy cut the images. After that I colored them with copic markers, highlighted some areas with white gel-pen and put little black enamel accent drops on the frog’s eyes.

While the eyes were drying I heat embossed rainfall on the top of the background with WoW! regular blue topaz embossing powder. I also used this powder to emboss the sentences on the card. To give it some dimension I’ve cut puffy background to the main elements (frog and coffee maker) and glued them on their backsides.

For the funny part of the card I’ve created a little mug from the mushroom stamps and also made some coffee drops. At the end I just glued my card’s elements together: the coffee maker, the drops heading to the little mug and the little frog. I’ve used glossy accents on the frog’s eyes and the coffee elements.

I hope my card inspires You to create something gorgeous!

Have a great day and don’t forget to take a brrrreak sometimes. 🙂

Lily, Beatrix Révhelyi
