Back to our regularly scheduled program. Brew & Craft Your Stash!! Challenge #20 in the 75 Creative Card Challenges Magazine by Paper Crafts 2013!! Grab your drink of choice and get ready for some great crafty ideas!!!

Challenge #20 – Make a Background with Decorative Tape. All the cards in the magazine applied the washi tape directly to the card base or a card stock panel. One used an extra wide washi tape, and the others added multiple stripes to make up the backgrounds.

I decided to do something a tad different for my background, adding washi tape covered die cuts to create my background. First, I picked out a few matching washi tapes from my stash and added them to a sheet of card stock.

Then I used Coffee Hop Sponsor Gina Marie Designs banner dies to cut out several banners from the washi tape ‘paper’ and a few from some aqua card stock. Next, I stamped the coffee cup from Sponsor Joy Clair’s Coffee Lovers stamp set.

On a strip of black card stock I white heat embossed the You Got This – Coffee sentiment. Then after arranging everything on a card base, I decided to add a little bit of watercolor on a panel of watercolor card stock. After adhering the banners I added the the coffee cup and sentiment with foam tape!
