Brew & Craft Your Stash – Stamp with a Homemade Stamp

Hello Coffee Lovers!!

It’s time for a new Brew & Craft Your Stash!! Challenge #18 in the 75 Creative Card Challenges Magazine by Paper Crafts 2013!! Grab your drink of choice and get ready for some great crafty ideas!!!

Challenge #18 – Stamp With A Homemade Stamp. This challenge is all about using a handmade stamp! The cards in the magazine use a wooden star, craft foam, and twine to stamp on their cards!!

I wasn’t sure what I was going to do at first, but one day I happened by my craft table and saw that I had placed a small piece of bubble wrap on the table. It was a stop on it’s way to my shipping supplies stash. The bubble wrap got me thinking, I can stamp with that!!

Later I sat down to craft and picked out some colors from my Distress Inks. I inked up the bubble wrap, spritz some water on it and then pressed it down on a watercolor panel. Then because I don’t like the be wasteful, I spritzed the bubble wrap again and pressed it to a different panel. So I get two panels from one inking!

I really liked how the two panels turned out so I did some experimenting! The first go around as mentioned above I used Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink. Then I used Peacock Feather and Picked Raspberry, layering the two colors on top of each other. Below you can see the finished panels!

But I was not done experimenting! Next, I used Distress Oxide – three different colors: Wilted Violet, Faded Jean and Cracked Pistachio. I ended up using these two backgrounds to make my coffee cards!!

I stamped the Coffee Helps stamp from Fun Stampers Journey on watercolor card stock. Then I used some Distress Markers to do a quick color and then fussy cut them out. I added them to the cards with foam tape.

Last, I stamped the coffee sentiment below the cups and added a few sequins scattered around for some sparkle!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope this encourages you to use basic household items as stamps! The sky is the limit!! 🙂
