Hello Coffee lovers!!
It’s time for a new Brew & Craft Your Stash!! Challenge #12 in the 75 Creative Card Challenges Magazine by Paper Crafts 2013!! Grab your drink of choice and get ready for some great crafty ideas!!!
Challenge #12 – Make Your Own Ruffle. Three of the four cards in the magazine use ribbon to make their ruffles. One created a shaped card with a ruffle skirt. A card used ruffles as a border and another created ruffles to make a cake. The last card used crepe paper ruffles to make a layered flower.
I wanted my ruffles to be a little different then the typical ribbon ruffle, so I started playing with some washi tape! I found that you want the stickiest washi tape, I had some that just would stay ruffled. From my stash I found the perfect sized coffee cup die, STAMPlorations Tag O’Coffee. I added the little washi ruffle skirts to each coffee cup after I cut them from white card stock.
To give my cups a face I used the faces from The Greeting Farm Perk Up stamp set. I made a ruffle skirt for three of the cups. Then to give the skirts a belt, I trimmed some gold glitter washi tape. To finish off the skirts I added a matching pearl to each.
For the background I used Tim Holtz On the Go Embossing Folder. I trimmed it a little and added it to a panel of Kraft card stock. For the sentiment I trimmed a strip of Kraft cardstock and then used Art Impressions Latte Love Set. The sentiment is perfect for my cute little ruffle coffee cups!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope this encourages you to pull out that ribbon or washi tape and make some ruffles!
