Challenge #11 – Doll Up a Die Cut. I usually include the products I used with the magazine. I made this card several weeks ago because I knew that last week I would be moving so I wanted to have my card ready. Well, when it was time to take pictures I was already packing, so I didn’t have the supplies I used available. So, the photo has all four cards, the first card made a die cut flower with felt, paper and a button. The second card dresses up a jar die with burlap, twine and die cut flowers. Felt and die cut flowers were used to dress up a bigger flower for the third card. The fourth card added a few Polaroid photos, with a heart on the top photo.
As I went through my coffee stash, I pulled out CAS-ual Fridays To Go Cup die and Coffee Talk stamps. I decided to make a card set and used Fancy Pants Designs Wish Seasons pattern paper, puffy stickers and ephemera die cuts. Using the same collection is an easy way to dress up any die!
I cut different patterns with the To Go Cup, mixing up the patterns as I assembled them. Then I mixed and matching the different die cuts and puffy stickers. When I was happy I adhered everything to each cup.
Then I cut different pattern paper strips and adhered them to white card bases. Next, I stamped Coffee four times on different colored paper from the pad. I also stamped different coffee sentiments from the Coffee Talk set. I trimmed the sentiments down and then played with placement of them and the coffee cups.
Using a paper collections with stickers and die cuts really helps dressing up dies. I hope this inspires you do dress up your own dies!!
