Coffee Buzz With Terri – Dreaming of You

“Monday, Monday…. so good to me….”. Ah, that old song from the Mamas and the Papas.  You either love Mondays, or you don’t.  Personally, any day that I am physically able to wake up and roll out of bed is a good day so I’ll take Monday any way I can get it.   Even better, is when The Hubs has the french press going so all I have to do is pour that first cup before heading to work.  Today, I’ve got a dreamy card that’s all about dreaming of that first morning cup.  I’ve also got some groundbreaking news for tea lovers so stick around.

First, the card details; I had created a layered, cloud-like background this past week and shared it on my social media (you can find me @wavingmywand), using Ranger distress oxides.  You won’t believe how easy it is to re-create.  You can check out the 1 minute or so video on my YouTube channel.  I’m also featuring the Pink and Main stamp set, “Latte Love“, stamping faded cup images on my background, then coloring a stamped image with the same inks that I used to create my background.  Doesn’t it look yummy?  The sentiment and stars stamps are courtesy of the Simon Says Stamp set, “Seeing Stars“.

For my stitched dies, I used the Crazy Double Running Stitch dies from Stamplorations. There are a ton of embellishments and other goodies on this card, including May Arts Ribbons, Elle’s Studio, Pretty Little Studio, Arteza glitter pens, Doodlebug Designs Sugar Coating and more.  I’m using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, and my Westcott Brand hot glue pen.

Now, for some industry Coffee Buzz news….  Have you heard of stonerolled tea?  It’s taken Postcard Teas 2 years in development to get to the point where they can launch stonerolled tea; stone ground tea that is pressed and slow ground between heavy granite stones.  Read on….

Whereas matcha tea lattes can be grassy or bitter, without adding sugar or flavorings, the stonerolled tea process, evokes an aromatic experience of a strong coffee, with no added sugar or flavorings so that the natural flavors of tea come through.   You can read the full article, here.   If you don’t mind spending the money, you can order stonerolled teas from Postcard Teas directly.  They even have brewing instructions on their site.  Average cost including shipping the black, green or oolong at 30 grams (8 grams makes 4 servings; 30 grams = 15 servings) is right at $31.00.  That’s just over $2.00 a cup.  Not a bad price for this groundbreaking new concept; one that I hope makes it’s way to the US soon.
