I hope you all had as relaxing a weekend as I did. I did lots of couch sitting, reading, and crafting. It was pretty glorious! This merry Monday, I’m going to show you one of the designs I created over the weekend.
If you’ve never tried the magic of Colorburst crystals, prepare to be amazed. Also, fair warning, this may make you run to your nearest craft store and purchase some (you’ve been warned!)
Colorburst crystals pack a punch of vibrant color. You can create a subtle watercolor wash, use them to watercolor images, or sprinkle the crystals into water to create unique backgrounds with tons of depth.
I chose the sprinkle method! I spritzed a piece of watercolor paper with my mini mister, then sprinkled in some Orchid ColorBurst crystals.
Once I had some crystals sprinkled, I spritzed over the top with more water, causing the crystals to break apart and begin to flow all over the page.
I used my heat tool to move the color around in swirly patterns and, of course, to give it a good dry.
Next, I added a tiny eensy weensy bit of ColorBurst crystals to a small dish. Seriously a little goes a LONG way. See the amount of powder in the picture above? That’s all it took for me to watercolor THREE of my focal images. 😮
I used a paintbrush to pick up some of the color, and watercolored this lovely little coffee cup from Unity Stamp Company’s Spring to Go set.
I added a sentiment from the STAMPlorations Literary Caffeine-ations set and put it all together. Viola!
Thanks for popping by! Cheers to an excellent, caffeinated week!
