Coffee Loving Papercrafters

I don’t know about you peeps, but I have SUCH a tough time with masculine cards. And, for some reason, an especially tough time with thank you cards. But there I was: in the predicament of needing a thank you card for a fella.

I thought it over and went with simplicity, using a monochrome color scheme and a whimsical sentiment. 

I began by stamping an image of a coffee mug atop a stack of books from the STAMPlorations Good Books & Coffee stamp set using Distress Inks.

I knew I wanted to watercolor my image, so I stamped the image using Walnut Stain Distress Ink. Then I smooshed some more Distress Ink of the same color onto my craft mat and picked up some of the color using a damp paintbrush.

I went around the inside edges of the image using the ink I picked up and then I rinsed out my paintbrush and used water to pull the color and create shading.

I added some Vintage Photo Distress Inks below the image so that it wasn’t floating in mid-air and then I stamped a sentiment from the Literary Caffiene-Ations stamp set.

And just like that, I had a perfect thank you card for a guy.
