It’s time for another Monday edition of Coffee Buzz. Grab your favorite brew and let’s talk! Today, I’ve got some cool, coffee industry news as well, so be sure to stay ’til the end. But first….. Coffee Loving Gnomes!
That’s right, even gnomes can’t start their day without a java jolt. Who knew? I’m coloring up some Adornit Art Play today, featuring their mini “Gnome Life” coloring book.
I’m also using the Adornit watercolor pencils, waterbrush, blender paper and stamps. The coffee cup was not part of the image, so, I drew one in. I love the thought that this happy gnome is having a fabulous Spring Day flying his kite in that cotton candy sky, with a hot cup ‘o Joe by his side. Sounds like my kind of day!
A few key points on my coloring, to make my cotton candy sky, I drew in lots of different sized circles, colored them in, blotted with a wet waterbrush and paper towel, then dabbed on white pigment ink. You could use white chalk ink as well. For my gnome and cup, I accented my shading with a white gel pen for a whimsical look.
I like to bring you a little insider coffee buzz news from time to time and today is no exception. I discovered this amazing story about a Yemen-American man named Mokhtar Alkhanshali. I first read about it at Sprudge.com. It’s an incredible story that you can read here, about how he left America to return to Yemen, obsessed with bringing amazing Yemen coffee to the masses. It truly is a good read, if you have the time, and a wonderful, feel good story. You will soon be able to purchase this coffee for yourself, at Port of Mokha Coffee. It’s pricey, but if price is no object, then go for it! It would make an excellent gift for your favorite coffee lover…oh, that’s me! Pre-orders are available now, for shipping in July.
Thanks for stopping by today. Hope your Monday is Brew-tiful!
(*Please note, the products I used above can be found at adornit.com with the exception of the stamps which are not currently in production, however, there are some available. If you would like to purchase the Lettering Art Stamps which include “Happiness comes from within”, please email info@adornit.com with your inquiry.)
